All About murat ozturker
If you’re thinking about getting some global business advice with me, Murat OZTURKER, applying my advisorship to learn the essential skills for growing a business or working with me as your business coach, you probably want to know some more about me.
I’ve been running businesses in one shape or another since I was 23. I’m 37 now, so I’ve been around the block a few times to find out what works and what doesn’t. I’ve run various kinds of businesses, from setting up global enterprises, running a export trading company, an international trade consultancy and in 2014, I founded Solar SOLENTURK with my business partner and started to design, produce, and export our solar energy solution and all-in-one solar led lights to all over the world. After this succesful enterprise, in 2018 I founded FUTURESIA Global Trade to help people and companies be a better player in the global business. We helped compaines from 4 continents for suppling various products and exporting their products.
People describe me as a business geek, and I’m always reading and learning about management and business. I find it fascinating. And I love being able to pass on what I’ve learnt to my clients.
Murat OZTURKER – my backstory
Here’s a brief synopsis of my life so far.
Born in Konya, went to school, read obsessively from an early age. Did double maths, physics and chemistry at A-level with some crazy idea that I would be a civil engineer. Although I still love modernist architecture and cool bridges, I changed my mind. Went to Cag University to study Economics under the false idea that this would help me to understand how the world works.
I hired my first job after graduated at Anadolu International Trade and Consultancy in 2005. I started at the bottom but learned many things about custom works and consultancy about international trade and European Union supports to the exporters and manufacturers in Turkey.
Then I worked at Kaizer Consultancy as an international trade consultant and quality management systems in 2007. I learned many things about certifications and ISO quality systems, and studied about ISO systems, held the auditor certificates on ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ISO 22001. This was where I started my MBA at Selcuk University and first learnt about setting up businesses, kind of by accident, as a way of creating jobs in a very deprived community.
Then, in 2009, I’ve done my military service at Turkish Airforce for 6 months. I then, have founded an International Education and Trade Consultancy firm (IECC), helped to students for choosing the best place to study abroad, and helped to company to sell their products especially to the Middle East countries and import products from China until 2011.
In 2011, I started to work as an import and export manager at KONPET Drilling Machines. We exported machines to Middle East, Gulf countries, Central Asia, and Africa. And alo, we imported machinery parts from U.S., Russia, and Europe.
In 2014, I’ve worked as a lecturer about export marketing at Tek Dunya Dil Kursu for 7 months. At the same time, I founded DOA company, and started to sell food products especially Olives and Olive Oil to abroad.
Then I set up a Solar Energy company with my business partner Mr. Ismail Haydaroglu in 2015. First we produced solar modules and solar street lights in Turkey. Then we changed our mind and started to design in Turkey, manufactured in China, and export our products. We are specialized in all in one solar led lighting solutions and export our lights to 4 continents. Still we are growing with our passion of business.
In 2018, I and my business partners founded FUTURESIA Global Trade, we helped people and companies to be a better player in global business. We specialized in Energy and Lighting, Medical Tools ( especially Medical Gloves), Agricultural Machinery, Gears and Gearboxes, and Food trading. We give Global Supply Chain and Global Marketing services to our clients.
I’ll probably still be doing this for another 20 years; it’s the best job in the world.
Why this is the best job in the world for me?
I love doing this. Why?
I love it because the world of business is fascinating. There are so many facets to it, so many things to try out, levers to pull, and all the bits are interconnected. And there’s so much to learn, there’s always a new approach or a new tactic to test out. I love the feeling of thinking hard about a client’s problems and working out the best way forward.
And of course, I love the feeling that I can help people to make a successful business. I get a real thrill out of seeing an old client and finding out the impact of applying the strategy we put together.
I believe that everyone is entitled to make good money (there’s certainly enough in the world to go around) and enjoying the process of building a global business. That’s why my unofficial strapline is:
